This step is very similar to step 15 in its logic. Let’s look at column R. There are only 3 blank cells: AR, FR & GR. We know that the number 3 must be in one of these blank cells for there’s no 3 in this column yet, and according to sudoku main rule, each column, row and box must contain the numbers 1 through 9. A quick observation would clearly indicate that we can’t put 3s in cells AR & FR because there are 3s in the same rows in cells AM & FO, respectively. The number 3 must be in cell GR if we are to keep the sudoku rules intact. |
